We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Acoustical Engineer to join our team. As an Acoustical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing acoustic solutions for various environments, including performance venues, recording studios, houses of worship, and commercial spaces. You will be responsible for assessing and improving the acoustical properties of different spaces to ensure optimal sound quality and noise control.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a passion for sound, and the ability to work closely with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative acoustic solutions tailored to the specific needs of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
Acoustical Design & Analysis
-Conduct acoustic assessments and simulations to evaluate sound characteristics in different environments.
-Design and engineer acoustic treatments for spaces such as concert halls, auditoriums, offices, and other commercial buildings.
-Recommend soundproofing solutions and strategies to manage noise levels, including vibration control, sound isolation, and absorption techniques.
-Use specialized software (e.g., EASE, Odeon, or CATT-Acoustic) to model room acoustics and analyze reverberation, sound diffusion, and reflection.
Collaboration & Consultation
-Work closely with architects, designers, and project managers to ensure acoustic considerations are integrated into the design of new and renovated spaces.
-Provide guidance and technical expertise to clients regarding the acoustical requirements of their projects.
-Remotely conduct site visits to evaluate the acoustical performance of spaces and provide recommendations for improvements or corrections. this will be linked with US tea
Measurement & Testing
-Design on-site acoustic testing protocols using equipment such as sound level meters, microphones, and other measurement tools to assess noise levels, reverberation times, and other acoustical parameters.
-Remotely Calibrate and adjust audio systems in conjunction with acoustical treatments to achieve optimal sound quality for both live and recorded environments.
Research & Development
-Stay updated on the latest developments in acoustical science, materials, and technology to ensure that the company remains at the forefront of the industry.
-Research new methods for improving the acoustical performance of spaces and implement those findings in future projects.
-Explore innovative uses of materials and technologies to optimize sound and reduce unwanted noise.
Project Management
-Develop project timelines, budgets, and resources required for acoustical projects.
-Remotely Oversee the installation of acoustic treatments and ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
-Maintain thorough documentation of all acoustical design processes, reports, and test results.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Acoustical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
-Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in acoustics, with a proven track record of successfully designing and implementing acoustic solutions for commercial or performance spaces.
-Experience working on projects such as theaters, concert halls, recording studios, corporate offices, or other acoustically sensitive environments.
Technical Skills:
-Proficient in acoustical modeling software such as EASE, Odeon, or CATT-Acoustic.
-In-depth understanding of acoustic principles such as reverberation, sound isolation, absorption, and diffusion.
-Familiarity with sound measurement equipment and techniques for assessing noise levels and acoustic performance.
-Knowledge of building codes, standards, and guidelines related to acoustics and soundproofing (e.g., ISO standards, ANSI regulations).
Soft Skills:
-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex acoustic concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
-Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in developing solutions for challenging acoustic environments.
-Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, designers, and engineers.
-Attention to detail and precision in all aspects of acoustic design and testing.
-Certifications (Preferred):
-INCE (Institute of Noise Control Engineering) or equivalent certifications are a plus.
-Certification or training in environmental acoustics, noise control, or audio system calibration is desirable.
