Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable (A/P) Lead to oversee and manage our accounts payable and payroll operations. The ideal candidate will bring leadership expertise, a proven track record in financial management, and the ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves supervising the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, overseeing payroll execution, and providing critical financial support to the organization. The A/P Lead must possess exceptional organizational skills, advanced technical proficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, employees, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Management (50%)
* Review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
* Manage the invoice approval process, including approvals based on predefined thresholds.
* Ensure timely processing of vendor payments while maintaining cash flow efficiency.
* Reconcile A/P reports and manage outstanding payables.
* Handle vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
* Maintain compliance with financial policies and company procedures.
Payroll Oversight (20%)
* Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in employee payments, tax deductions, and compliance with payroll regulations.
* Maintain payroll records, including deductions, bonuses, and time-off tracking.
* Coordinate with HR and finance teams regarding payroll-related adjustments and reporting.
* Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Reporting & Analysis (20%)
* Generate payroll, accounts payable, and financial performance reports.
* Analyze data and provide key insights for management decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements and internal policies.
Administrative & Team Support (10%)
* Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes as they relate to payroll and vendor setup.
* Handle general administrative tasks to support smooth business operations.
* Collaborate with the CFO and Manager of Admin & Collections to reconcile accounts and support audits.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience managing payroll, preferably using payroll software.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping.
* Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and other accounting software.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and other productivity tools.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
