About the company: We are a benefits consultant specializing in custom plan designs for mid-market businesses, aiming to reduce insurance spending and improve benefits by helping clients maximize their insurance spend and control medical expenses long-term.

Job Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST)
Location: Remote - Philippines
Employment Type: Part-time (10 hours per month, with the potential for more hours as needed)

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

The primary responsibilities of this role will include supporting the company in various accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, financial reporting, and general administrative duties.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable:
-Process invoices, expense reports, and reimbursement requests accurately.
-Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
-Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) in a timely manner.

Accounts Receivable:
-Assist in generating invoices and statements for clients.
-Monitor accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.
-Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.

General Ledger:
-Help maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
-Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts as necessary.
-Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

Financial Reporting:
-Assist in the preparation of key financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
-Generate ad-hoc financial reports for management as requested.

Record-Keeping and Documentation:
-Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and records.
-Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

Administrative Support:
-Provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
-Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:
-Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
-Experience with QuickBooks is required.
-Experience with Paychex is preferred, but not required.
-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Philippines.
