Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Assistant to join our team.
This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end Accounts Receivable process
ensuring customer invoices are billed and collected on time; you will also manage and
process payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The
ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills and a
commitment to maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
* Generate, issue, and track customer invoices to ensure timely payments.
* Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all AR transactions.
* Communicate with customers to address invoice-related inquiries or disputes.
* Collaborate with internal teams to address payment issues.
* Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in AR function.
Payroll Management
* Process and manage payroll for employees on a bi-weekly/weekly basis.
* Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes in compliance with legal standards.
* Maintain accurate payroll records and update employee information (e.g., salaries, tax information, and job titles).
* Ensure compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
* Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies promptly.
* Collaborate with the HR and finance departments to ensure accuracy in payroll processes.
* Prepare and distribute payroll reports and statements.
* Stay updated on changes in tax laws, labor laws, and industry standards related to payroll.
* Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in the Payroll function.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in accounts receivable and payroll processing.
* Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, Wise, or similar).
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and payroll regulations.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Google Sheets.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams, customers, and employees.
* Familiarity with labor laws and tax regulations.
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time remote position requiring a 4-hour/day overlap with US Central Time, with the remaining hours amenable to a flexible schedule.
