We are seeking a competent AI Solutions Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, building, and supporting practical AI-powered systems that improve student support, internal operations, workflow automation, and execution across our organization.

This position includes working directly with the founder, Dexter, & our Infrastructure support team to build and maintain AI-driven tools that integrate with our support workflows, documentation systems, internal knowledge bases, Slack, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and other operational platforms from day one.

We are looking for a full-time AI Solutions Engineer who can take real operational problems, architect practical solutions, and build structured systems that improve support quality, response speed, and internal leverage throughout the organization. This role is ideal for someone with backend engineering, automation, API integration, and applied AI systems experience who understands how modern AI tools are built and used in real-world environments.

We also operate an Information Technology training and mentorship division, helping individuals break into IT roles through hands-on labs, structured programs, and accountability-driven education.

Role Purpose:

->Design and build practical AI systems that solve real support and operational problems
->Integrate AI workflows into internal business systems and support environments
->Improve support speed, quality, and consistency using grounded AI-assisted processes
->Create maintainable systems that connect LLM reasoning with real company data and workflows
->Help build the foundation for future AI tooling across training, operations, and service delivery

Key Responsibilities:
->AI Systems Design & Implementation
->Design and build practical AI-powered workflows and internal tools
->Translate business and operational requirements into real technical systems
->Create MVPs that can be tested quickly and improved over time
->Own implementation from architecture through working delivery
->Slack Bot & Support Automation
->Assist Dexter with designing and building a Slack-based AI support assistant for student support operations
->Build support workflows that:
-->Ask clarifying questions
-->Suggest safe troubleshooting steps
-->Reference internal documentation
-->Escalate to a human when needed
->Integrate AI responses into real Slack support operations
->Knowledge Base & Retrieval Systems
->Help ingest, structure, and retrieve internal documentation
->Build retrieval pipelines across:
-->Knowledge base content
-->Google Docs
-->Google Sheets
-->Curated internal support playbooks
->Improve AI response quality by grounding outputs in real company information
->Backend Integrations & Workflow Automation
->Build and maintain integrations with:
-->Slack APIs
-->Google Docs / Sheets / Drive APIs
-->Knowledge base systems
-->Internal workflow tools
->Connect LLMs to APIs, retrieval systems, and operational logic in a safe and maintainable way
->Prompting, Orchestration & Guardrails
->Create and improve prompts for support, triage, and internal automation use cases
->Structure AI outputs so they can be used reliably inside production workflows
->Implement validation, guardrails, and confidence handling
->Testing, Monitoring & Reporting
->Test AI workflows against real support and business scenarios
->Log outputs, analyze failures, and improve system quality over time
->Identify when AI should answer, ask follow-up questions, or escalate
->Provide visibility into system performance, limitations, and improvement opportunities

Preferred Technical Background (Strong Advantage):

This role is strongly preferred for candidates with technical experience, including:

->Backend software engineering
->API integrations and webhooks
->LLM application development
->Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
->Slack app development
->Google Workspace API integrations
->Database experience such as PostgreSQL
->General scripting / automation experience

You do not need to be a machine learning researcher or senior AI scientist, but you must understand how to build and ship applied systems in practice.

This is a full-time remote position (40 hours per week). During the initial phase of the role, work hours will primarily align with U.S. Pacific Time for collaboration, implementation meetings, and support workflow alignment, typically:

->8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday

Depending on the needs of the organization and support operations, some flexibility for overlap with after-hours support discussions or implementation coordination may occasionally be required.
