AI / LLM Developer — Full Time, Remote (Australia-based company)

About the role
We're an Australian e-commerce business looking for a smart, self-directed developer to work closely with our founder on AI-driven systems. This is a long-term full-time role, not a short contract. We work like a real office — daily video catchups, open Slack/ ---------- during overlap hours, and fast communication. If you prefer to work in isolation and only check in weekly, this isn't the right fit.
What you'll work on

Building and extending AI agent workflows using the Claude API (Anthropic)
Developing and maintaining MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers
TypeScript/Node.js backend development
Shopify API integrations (experience helpful but not required — we'll train)
Internal tooling that connects our e-commerce platform to our custom middleware system

What we're looking for

Strong TypeScript or JavaScript — you write clean, production-quality code
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, or similar) — not just prompting, actually building with them
Comfortable with agentic patterns: tool use, multi-turn context, structured outputs
Reliable fibre internet and a dedicated home workspace
Happy to be on webcam during overlap hours (we run like a virtual office, not a freelance arrangement)
Strong written and spoken English

Nice to have

Shopify / e-commerce background
Experience with MCP servers or AI orchestration frameworks
Open source contributions or public repos we can look at

Hours
Full time. You'll be working with someone in Melbourne, Australia (AEDT). Core overlap hours are approximately 9am–3pm Philippines time.
