AI Automation & Systems Developer

We are an Australian construction company looking for a highly capable AI automation and systems developer to help us improve efficiency and build internal automation tools across the business.

This role is focused on building practical AI agents and automations that remove manual work from our team, not academic AI research.

You will work directly with the business owner and leadership team to identify opportunities where AI and automation can improve operations, sales processes, and administration.

This is a long-term role for someone who enjoys building systems that make businesses run better.

What You Will Be Doing

Your role will involve designing and building automation tools such as:

AI agents that read and process incoming emails

Automating CRM workflows and sales pipelines

Building bots that create jobs or tasks when plans or documents are received

Connecting business systems (CRM, email, project management tools)

Creating internal dashboards and reporting automation

Developing small AI assistants for our internal team

Removing repetitive admin tasks through automation

Continuously improving systems and workflows across the business

The goal is to make the company more efficient every month by replacing manual work with smart automation.

Example Projects You May Work On

Some examples of projects include:

• AI inbox assistant that categorises emails and drafts replies
• Automation that detects new quote requests and creates jobs in our systems
• Follow-up automation for sales quotes
• Automated reporting dashboards for sales and operations
• AI assistant that helps staff find information quickly
• Integration between CRM, email, and project systems

Required Skills

You should have experience in some of the following areas:

Python

AI APIs (OpenAI / GPT / Claude or similar)

Automation tools such as Zapier or Make

API integrations

CRM automation


Email workflow automation

Basic database and scripting knowledge

Strong problem solving and the ability to design systems independently is very important.

Nice To Have

Experience with:

Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams)
