JOB OVERVIEW

AI-Assisted Junior Developer
Claude Code • GitHub • Supabase • Vercel • Railway • APIs

We are looking for a technical, fast-moving AI-Assisted Junior Developer to help build custom apps, internal tools, dashboards, automations, and business systems.

The main focus of this role is using Claude Code and AI-assisted development to move quickly from instructions, Loom videos, and specs into working software.

You do not need to be a senior developer, but you do need a real technical foundation. You should be comfortable working in codebases, using GitHub, connecting APIs, troubleshooting errors, and testing your own work.

This is not a Zapier-only automation role. We may use automation tools occasionally, but the core of this role is building and maintaining real software systems.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll help build practical software systems for small businesses, including:

- Custom internal apps
- Client portals
- Dashboards
- AI-powered business tools
- CRM-style systems
- API integrations
- Workflow automations
- Payment and billing workflows
- Reporting tools
- Internal operations systems

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Use Claude Code and AI coding tools to build features quickly
- Work inside existing codebases using GitHub
- Create branches, commits, and pull requests
- Build custom apps, portals, dashboards, and internal tools
- Connect systems using APIs, webhooks, and databases
- Work with Supabase for databases, auth, storage, and app backends
- Set up and troubleshoot deployments on Vercel and Railway
- Integrate payment and billing workflows using Stripe
- Debug errors and solve technical problems independently
- Test features carefully before marking them complete
- Document what you build so it can be maintained or handed off later
- Communicate clearly about progress, blockers, and next steps

REQUIRED SKILLS

You should have experience or strong working knowledge of:

- JavaScript or TypeScript
- React, Next.js, or similar frontend frameworks
- Basic backend development concepts
- REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON
- Databases such as Supabase, PostgreSQL, Firebase, or similar
- Git and GitHub
- Debugging code and reading error messages
- Using AI tools to assist with coding and problem-solving
- Strong written English communication
- Ability to follow detailed instructions without needing constant supervision

You do not need to be an expert in every tool, but you should be technical enough to understand what the tools are doing, test the output, and fix things when they break.

MAIN TOOLS YOU’LL USE

- Claude Code
- Slack
- GitHub
- Vercel
- Railway
- Supabase
- Stripe
- APIs
- Webhooks
- Custom apps and internal business systems

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT IF YOU ARE

- Fast at using Claude Code to build and iterate
- Comfortable working in codebases, not just no-code tools
- Able to take a Loom video or written spec and turn it into a working feature
- Good at debugging independently
- Careful enough to test your work before submitting it
- Honest when something is outside your current skillset
- Excited by practical business systems, not just toy projects
- Comfortable moving fast while still being organized
- Reliable, responsive, and consistent

NOT A FIT IF

- Your experience is mostly limited to Zapier, Make, or no-code automation tools
- You are not comfortable reading, editing, or debugging code
- You have never used GitHub or version control
- You need constant step-by-step guidance
- You wait for instructions instead of investigating problems
- You avoid testing your own work
- You prefer slow planning over shipping working products

BONUS EXPERIENCE

Helpful, but not required:

- Claude Code experience
- Cursor, Codex, or other AI coding tool experience
- Supabase auth, RLS, storage, or database experience
- Vercel or Railway deployment experience
- Stripe integration experience
- CRM, client portal, dashboard, or internal tool experience
- Experience building apps for small businesses

HOURS & PAY

- Part-time to start: approximately 20 hours/week
- Opportunity to move to full-time within 4–6 weeks based on performance
- Starting pay: $400/month
- Pay can increase based on speed, reliability, technical ability, and quality of work

This is a long-term role for someone who wants to grow into a more advanced technical builder position.

ABOUT DRAGONFLY AI

Dragonfly AI builds practical AI-powered systems for small businesses.

We help business owners clean up messy workflows, connect scattered tools, automate repetitive tasks, and turn daily operations into clear, reliable systems.

We build things like custom apps, dashboards, CRMs, client portals, automations, AI tools, and internal business systems.

Our goal is not AI hype. Our goal is to build useful systems that save time, reduce manual work, and actually get used.

HOW TO APPLY

Please include the following in your application:

1. A short intro about yourself
2. A description of one technical project you have built
3. Links to your GitHub, portfolio, live apps, or code samples, if available
4. Your experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, APIs, databases, and GitHub
5. How you use Claude Code or other AI coding tools in your workflow
6. The word “Operator” in your response to confirm attention to detail
7. Your favorite AI coding tool and why

Please do not only describe Zapier, Make, or automation workflows.

I want to see technical work: code, apps, APIs, databases, custom systems, or deployed projects.

APPLICATION TEST

Please answer this as part of your application:

If I gave you a broken Next.js app connected to Supabase, and users were unable to log in, what steps would you take to diagnose the issue?

Your answer does not need to be perfect. I want to understand how you think, debug, and troubleshoot technical problems.
