Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable fiction writer to help create 30,000-word genre fiction stories for an established digital publishing brand.
This is an ongoing role for someone who understands story structure, genre conventions, pacing, character motivation, and reader expectations. The ideal candidate enjoys working with AI writing tools and knows how to guide a story from concept to finished manuscript while keeping it cohesive, emotionally engaging, and aligned with the target genre.
You will not be writing every word from scratch. Instead, you will use AI tools as part of the writing process. Your job will be to plan the story, develop the plot, guide the AI, revise the output, fix continuity issues, improve character consistency, and make sure the finished manuscript reads like a polished, satisfying genre story.
We publish in fiction categories such as romance, horror, thriller, fantasy, and science fiction. Experience in any of these genres is welcome. Strong understanding of romance fiction is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Create and refine story concepts based on provided tropes, themes, story titles, and publishing goals.
Develop clear plots, chapter-by-chapter outlines, character arcs, and story beats.
Use AI tools to generate 30,000-word stories based on approved outlines and creative direction.
Keep the AI-generated story on track, avoiding repetition, contradictions, weak pacing, random plot turns, or scenes that do not serve the story.
Revise and polish AI-generated text so the final manuscript feels cohesive, natural, emotionally engaging, and aligned with genre expectations.
Ensure characters remain consistent in voice, motivation, behavior, and relationship dynamics.
Strengthen pacing, tension, conflict, hooks, chapter endings, and emotional payoff.
Follow brand style, formatting, and quality guidelines.
Communicate clearly, meet deadlines, and revise based on feedback.
Maintain confidentiality about pen names, book concepts, prompts, workflows, and publishing strategy.

Reliable, responsive, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions carefully.
No plagiarism, no copied material, and no reused content from previous work.
