3D Printing File Prep Specialist — Splash N Color

What You'll Do

You'll be responsible for preparing production-ready 3D print files at high volume for our team.

Daily work (80%):
• Open STL/3MF files from our product queue
• Set up proper print settings in Bambu Studio (orientation, supports, infill, walls)
• Export production-ready 3MF files
• Mark items complete in our system
• Target: 50-75 files per day

File hunting (20%):
• Find matching STL files on Thingiverse, Printables, Makerworld, Thangs, and MyMiniFactory when a product needs an exact file match
• Search by keyword, image, or product type
• Verify files are open-source licensed and printable
• Flag items that need custom design vs. existing files

Requirements

Must have:
• Experience with FDM 3D printing (personal or professional)
• Proficiency in Bambu Studio (required)
• Understanding of print orientation and why it matters (layer lines, strength, aesthetics)
• Understanding of support material — when it's needed, how to minimize it
• Knowledge of common materials (PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU)
• Reliable internet + computer that can run Bambu Studio
• Available full-time (40 hrs/week)

Nice to have:
• Own 3D printer for test prints on complex items
• Experience browsing and downloading from Thingiverse, Printables, Makerworld, and Thangs
• Familiarity with wall thickness, infill patterns, and bridging
• Experience with multi-piece assemblies or hardware inserts
