Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager with a passion for technology and a rich background in all facets of accounting. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy financial professional who is enthusiastic about incorporating AI and machine learning into daily accounting tasks, and who can contribute to the growth and development of our financial management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
month and end-year process
accounts payable/receivable
cash receipts
general ledger
payroll and utilities
treasury, budgeting
cash forecasting
revenue and expenditure variance analysis
capital assets reconciliations
trust account statement reconciliations,
check runs
fixed asset activity
debt activity
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
Coordinate and complete annual audits
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Meet financial accounting objectives
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced bookkeeping, with a proven track record in managing and supervising accounting departments.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is highly regarded.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Expert proficiency in accounting software and administering payroll.
Proven experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
Excitement and strong understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a keen interest in their application within the accounting sphere.
Experience with utilizing AI tools for predictive analysis, automated data entry, and financial forecasting.
Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to interpret and explain complex financial data.
Strong leadership skills, with an ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay abreast of the latest industry technology and innovations.
