JOB OVERVIEW

*Web Designer (UX/UI) — Gig / Part-time / Full-time*
Boutique Branding Studio — Netherlands

---

*About the Role*

We're a boutique branding studio based in the Netherlands. We work at the intersection of brand strategy, identity, and digital execution. The websites we build are not afterthoughts to a brand project, they are the brand, made interactive.

We're looking for a Web Designer who leads with structure and ends with craft. Someone who opens a new project by thinking about pages, flows, and systems, not colours and typefaces. The visual execution matters enormously, but it comes last.

You'll join a small team on a gig basis, with a clear path to part-time and full-time for the right person. You'll own the design process from sitemap to hand-off, working alongside our brand leads and Webflow developer.

---

*Who You Are*

Before you are a designer, you are a systems thinker. You map information before you design screens. You wireframe to solve problems, not to sketch rough ideas. When you look at a website brief, your first instinct is to ask: what does this site need to do, how should it be structured, and how will someone move through it?

You understand the web as a medium, not a canvas. You think about scroll behaviour, states, responsiveness, and hierarchy the way a developer thinks about logic: it either works or it doesn't.

You're not a graphic designer who builds websites on the side. Web design is your specialism. It's where your thinking lives.

---

*What You'll Do*

— Translate briefs and brand strategy into sitemaps and content architecture before a single screen is designed
— Build wireframes that define structure, hierarchy, and user flow with enough detail that they could be critiqued and approved on their own
— Design full website concepts in Figma, desktop and mobile, using consistent components and a system-first approach
— Build and maintain design systems and component libraries that scale across pages and projects
— Hand off clean, structured Figma files to our Webflow developer with zero ambiguity
— Work closely with brand leads from briefing through to final design, contributing to conceptual direction where needed

---

*What We're Not Looking For*

A graphic designer who can also do web. Someone who jumps to visual design before the structure is solved. Someone who designs pages in isolation without thinking about the system they belong to. Someone who needs direction at every step.

If your portfolio is full of beautiful screens with no evidence of the thinking behind them, this is not the right role.

---

*What We're Looking For*

Required:
— 5+ years specialising in web design — not general graphic, brand, or print design
— A genuine process: sitemap ? wireframe ? visual design, every time
— Strong information architecture skills — you can define page structure, navigation logic, and content hierarchy from a brief
— Wireframes that stand on their own — detailed, annotated, and used as a real tool for alignment
— Expert Figma skills: components, auto layout, variants, design systems, developer hand-off
— A systems mindset — you think in reusable parts, not one-off pages
— Deep understanding of web UX: conversion logic, scroll behaviour, mobile-first thinking, interactive states
— Portfolio of live marketing and corporate websites that show process, not just output
— Clear, proactive communicator in English

Nice to have:
— Familiarity with Webflow, knowing how your designs will be built makes you a better designer
— Experience building or maintaining full design systems across multiple projects
— Conceptual contribution to brand and campaign work that feeds into web
— Micro-interaction or animation thinking at the wireframe stage

---

*How We Work Together*

A project starts with a briefing — sometimes strategic, sometimes a brand deep-dive, often both. From there, you lead: sitemap first, wireframes second, visual design third. You'll work closely with our brand leads and Webflow developer at each stage. Client communication stays with the studio. Your job is to design something that works and looks considered, then hand it off clearly.

We're a small team. We don't micromanage, and we don't chase. We expect you to ask the right questions early, raise blockers when they appear, and deliver work that doesn't need explaining.

---

*Compensation*

Hourly rate is based on experience and portfolio. We pay well for the right person.

This starts as a gig engagement. Strong collaborators will have the opportunity to move into a structured part-time role, and eventually a full-time position as the relationship grows.

---

*How to Apply*

Send us:

— Your portfolio — live websites only. We're not interested in Dribbble shots, unsolicited redesigns, or graphic design work. Show us websites you shipped.
— 2–3 case studies that walk us through your process: how you structured the site, what the wireframes looked like, how the final design connects back to the brief. The thinking matters as much as the output.
— A short introduction: who you are, what kinds of projects you've worked on, and your hourly rate.

*Applications without a process-driven case study will not be reviewed.*
