JOB OVERVIEW

Summary
I own a history-themed e-commerce apparel brand. We create intelligent, historically inspired designs that combine strong typography, clean composition, and subtle wit.

I am looking for a graphic designer to join our existing designers who can take a simple concept and turn it into a finished, production-ready design — without needing step-by-step art direction.

This role requires independent creative thinking.

If you rely heavily on AI to generate finished artwork, this will not be a good fit.

Using AI as a supplemental tool for research, texture creation, or idea exploration is completely fine. However, the final composition, typography decisions, layout, and overall design direction must be driven by you — not by AI image generation tools.

I am not looking for:

Midjourney prompt engineers

Canva template designers

Clip-art assemblers

Fully AI-generated art resold as original work

I am looking for:

A designer who understands composition

Someone strong in typography

Someone who can research historical subjects

Someone who can build a cohesive visual identity over time

What I Will Provide:

A concept (example: “Battle of Midway – minimalist WWII naval blueprint style”)

Access to my current designs for brand direction

Historical context when needed

Feedback focused on alignment — not micromanagement

What I Need From You:

Original design thinking

Strong typographic hierarchy

Apparel-aware composition

Clean vector or raster artwork built intentionally

Production-ready PNG files

Technical Requirements:

4500 x 5400 px

300 DPI

Transparent background

Print-ready for direct-to-garment

Also helpful if you understand:

Screen-print-friendly layouts

Distressed / vintage treatments

Blueprint or engraving-style illustration

Clean negative space usage
