Summary
We’re rolling out a forward-leaning initiative focused on sustainable dome housing, and we’re looking for an experienced MEP Engineer who can bring technical rigor and creative problem-solving to our mock-up build: a Dome Barn House.
You’ll collaborate closely with our architect and structural engineers to design efficient, resilient systems that set the standard for future sustainable domes.
Why This Matters
We’re not just building a house... we’re establishing a repeatable blueprint for eco-forward dome living. If you’re motivated by clarity of purpose, engineered resilience, and the chance to help shape a new housing model, you’ll fit right in.
How to Apply
Please include:
Relevant portfolio projects (MEP for unique or sustainable structures preferred)
A brief description of your design approach
Software you use (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
Estimated timeline and availability
Deliverables
Scope of Work
You’ll take the lead on designing both electrical and mechanical systems, including:
Electrical
Conduit layouts optimized for curved/spherical architecture
Solar energy integration and load analysis
Panel sizing, grounding, and distribution strategies
Mechanical
Energy-recovery ventilation (ERV) system
Rainwater harvesting design with pump integration
HEPA filtration + building air purification strategy
High-SEER mini-split system with heat-pump mode for year-round climate control
Split AC for precision temperature zones
Wall-mounted hygrometers for humidity tracking
Sustainable, maintenance-friendly mechanical layout inside a dome structure
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience designing MEP for residential or unconventional structures
Understanding of sustainability principles and energy-efficient systems
Ability to adapt standard MEP principles to non-linear geometry
Strong communication and willingness to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Clear documentation skills (drawings, calculations, specs)
Deliverables
Full MEP design drawings suitable for construction and permitting
Equipment schedule and performance specs
Load calculations & system sizing
Coordination with architectural and structural models
Revisions based on team feedback
