Freelance Shopify Developer (Ongoing Support Partner)

We are looking for a reliable, experienced freelance Shopify developer to support our e-commerce store on an ongoing, as-needed basis.

This is a long-term working relationship, not a full-time hire. We want to build a trusted partnership with one or two developers we can consistently rely on for website improvements, troubleshooting, and custom development work.

Remote candidates are preferred.

About the Role

We regularly need technical Shopify support for tasks that go beyond what our internal team can complete, including:

Theme edits and customizations

Coding support and bug fixing

App integrations and troubleshooting

Performance improvements and technical clean-up

Rather than working with agencies or rotating freelancers, we want a dependable developer who understands our store over time and can provide consistent support when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Shopify theme editing and customization

Working with Liquid (Shopify templating language)

Front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

App integrations, troubleshooting, and resolving conflicts

Fixing bugs, layout issues, and mobile responsiveness problems

Performance optimization and site speed improvements

Supporting ongoing site enhancements and feature requests

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly experienced with Shopify development (not just basic setup)

Strong in Liquid, theme architecture, and front-end implementation

Comfortable diagnosing issues and proposing solutions

Reliable, responsive, and able to meet reasonable turnaround times

A clear communicator who can work well with a remote team

Experienced supporting mid- to high-AOV e-commerce brands (preferred)

Preferred Candidate Profile

Priority will be given to developers based in regions with strong technical talent and reasonable pricing, such as:

Eastern Europe

Southeast Asia

South America

We generally avoid high-cost regions (UK/US) unless exceptional value is demonstrated.
