We are a growing digital company based in the Netherlands and we are looking for an experienced Curriculum Developer / Course Author to help us build a complete, professional online course for the Norwegian boating license (batforerprov). This is NOT a generic writing job. We are looking for someone who has real experience writing educational content - think textbooks, study guides, training manuals, or e-learning curricula - and who can apply that experience to create a course that actually teaches people effectively.

You will own the content side of this course from start to finish: structuring the curriculum, writing the lesson content, creating quiz questions, and making sure every module is clear, accurate, and engaging for a Norwegian-speaking learner.

What You'll Do:
- Research the official Norwegian boating license requirements and exam content
- Design the full curriculum structure: modules, lessons, learning objectives, and progression
- Write clear, accurate, and engaging lesson content in English (to be translated to Norwegian)
- Create quiz questions and knowledge checks that genuinely test understanding
- Write summaries, key takeaways, and revision materials for each module
- Collaborate with our e-Learning Developer to ensure the content fits the platform format
- Review and refine content based on feedback until it meets a publishable standard

Requirements:
- Proven experience writing educational content - you have written a book, study guide, training manual, textbook, or full e-learning curriculum before
- Able to share concrete examples or published work (links, PDFs, or portfolio)
- Strong ability to break down complex topics into simple, logical, step-by-step explanations
- Experience writing quiz questions and assessments that test real understanding
- Detail-oriented, thorough, and committed to accuracy - especially important for safety-related boating content
- Excellent written English
- Reliable and able to work to agreed milestones and deadlines

Nice to Have:
- Background in maritime, nautical, or outdoor/safety education
- Experience with Norwegian language or Scandinavian markets
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms like Teachable or Thinkific
- Previous remote work experience on long-form educational projects

Compensation:
- $6 - $10 per hour (depending on experience and portfolio quality)
- Paid weekly or bi-weekly

Why Work With Us:
- Meaningful long-term project with a clear scope and real deliverables
- Full creative ownership of the course content
- We handle the platform, design, and translation - you focus on the curriculum
- Collaborative team with direct feedback and support

Please include in your application:
1. Share an example of educational content you have written - a book, manual, course, or study guide. Please include a link or attachment.
2. Describe your process for structuring a curriculum from scratch. How do you d ---------- what goes in, in what order, and how to test understanding?
3. Have you written content for a topic you were not already an expert in? How did you approach the research?
4. What is your availability per week and how long would you estimate it takes to build a full course like this?

We review applications quickly and will respond within 48 hours.
