Construction Standards Engineer (Australia)

Specdoors is seeking an experienced Construction Standards Engineer with strong knowledge of Australian Standards (AS) and the National Construction Code (NCC) to provide compliance advice and technical review for commercial and large-scale construction projects, including high-rise developments across Australia.

The role involves reviewing architectural drawings, door schedules, and specifications to ensure all works comply with the NCC and relevant Australian Standards such as AS 1905, AS 1428, AS 1530, and AS/NZS 3500. You’ll support our team by identifying compliance issues, preparing written reports, and verifying supplier documentation.

Responsibilities:
• Review drawings and documentation for NCC and AS compliance.
• Provide written technical advice and compliance recommendations.
• Check and validate test reports, certifications, and specifications.
• Stay current with NCC and AS updates relevant to commercial construction.

Qualifications:
• Degree in Engineering, Building Surveying, or Construction Management.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Australian commercial or high-rise projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NCC Volumes 1 & 2 and key AS standards.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with fire doors, accessibility, or product certification is an advantage.
